American Tackle ProStaff LP8 Carbon Casting Reel (Right Hand Retrieve)

Took the LP8 Casting Reel out for a run today. I paired it with a 6'6" medium action rod from the extra rod stack we have and lined it with 30lb Nano X. First few casts felt slightly different due to the really low profile design and button/spool placement but then felt more comfortable and natural than my other casting reels. First bite of the day came a few casts later and all it took was a turn of the handle and the hook was set. With the way everything was set up I was able to throw 4" jerk baits, squarebills and 6" weightless trick worms with no issue. Wind control adjustments are protected to prevent accidental movement, drag gives an audible click when adjusting and spool tension stays till you move it. Seems like it will be a good all around reel and will be putting it on a heavier action next time to see how it handles the bigger spinners, frogs and maybe some swim jigs.

Works Awesome for running the Bushido Square Bill baits. I highly recommend this reel. Looking to purchase several more and mating them up to one of the Toxic Biohazard rods.

Got one a few months ago love this thing. I've landed some big small mouth with it and had no issue's with the reel itself other then the screw caps that hold the handles on came off due to me not tightening them down which is my own fault other then that i love it just ordered another today

Need to know how to clean reel. Seems a little hard to disassemble. Send me some instructions please. Making a noise when casting..

A big thumbs up from the Northwest. This reel is smooth, very fast retrieve at an 8:1 ratio, and light as a feather and a good drag to boot. The magnetic cast control works very well even throwing the bobber dogging rigs for steelhead. The 8:1 gear ratio is a definite advantage for the long retrieves typical with bobber dogging. The only little complaint is the dial is a bit too small on the magnetic cast control. It's a bit hard to adjust with cold fat fingers in the middle of winter. I'm looking forward to seeing how well this reel performs for salmon.

I ordered 2 of the LP8 Carbon reels and they arrived 2 days before expected! Super sleek design, smooth 8.0:1 bearing system. I put this reel on a 7’ MH rod, and I can cast farther and smoother than I have ever been able to before. Highly recommend picking this reel up for yourself!

This reel pairs excellently with my Biohazard. You can cast it a mile, amazing retrieve, super fast and smooth. The torque is perfect. Easy on the hands, light weight, and you can throw it all day.

Love these reels. Super light but strong. I've tried them in salt and freshwater now. Love the water port but gets everywhere if you're casting and constantly reeling like buzz baits etc. However, only downside so far which is nothing really. Got 65lb braid I throw frogs/dragonflies/buzzbaits also use it for the AT stick baits. Most of my fishing in general. Did I mention how light?? Compared to a "kastking" 40$ reel, weigh about the same is crazy to me. Pure quality in these reels no doubt about it. Love my LP8 CARBON.
