A review for some of the floats available can be summed up in one word. CRAP. Not this one. It works as advertised Since I often have to go thru surf to get to a reef I made on adjustment for rough water. Adjacent to each coupling that holds the two poles together I drilled a SMAL HOLE and ran a line thru each hole and made a small loop. The two loops can be connected by another piece of line so if rough water seperates the two piece shaft you don't lose a piece all you have to do is re-join it. Muy Importante: When drilling the holes use a very small drill point. This stuff can shatter and split. Once drilled take a magnifying glass and examine the holes for small damage which can be repaired using an artist brush and Gorilla Glue or fiberglass resin.
