Dive Float Assembly. Includes Float, Inner Tube, 14x18 Dive Flag

This dive float is wonderful, especially for instructors, because it is highly visible, is buoyant enough for a student to rest on, and has a large empty space inside to hold spare gear, including enough lift to keep up spare weights. I bought mine after the instructor I took my nav class from used it off the beach at Anna Maria Island, and every instructor (including my DM mentor) that has seen it has gone off and purchased one. The only downside (which I need to mention) is that it will drag you in a strong current: it has a large surface area. But for calm days, or when you can anchor the float to the bottom, this dive float is second to none!

I finally picked one of the many dive buoys out there. I think I made a good choice. This is well made with sturdy materials. I like the 4 hand holds around the tube for easy of carrying and for holding onto while reaching into the zippered compartment to grab mask anti-fog or a camera. The only thing I didn't really like about it is the fiberglass flag rod. It was getting glass splinters in my fingers. I finally took it out to the garage and spray painted it white to seal in the fibers. It's much better now. The one I got had only one ring holding the flag to the pole. I don't know if this is normal but I had to drill another hole in the pole to put another ring through it to tie the other end of the flag to the pole. I let the air out of it to transport to San Diego in my car but when diving local I just leave it inflated in the back of my truck with the top half of the flag pole separated.
